When Israel Expelled Palestinians: What if it was San Diego and Tijuana Instead?

In the wake of Israel's invasion of Gaza, Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak made this analogy: "Think about what would happen if for seven years rockets had been fired at San Diego [1], California from Tijuana [2], Mexico."

Within hours scores of American pundits and politicians had mimicked Barak's comparisons almost verbatim. In fact, in this very paper on January 9 House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor ended an opinion piece by saying "America would never sit still if terrorists were lobbing missiles across our border into Texas or Montana." But let's see if our political and pundit class can parrot this analogy.

Think about what would happen if San Diego expelled most of its Hispanic, African American, Asian American, and Native American population, about 48 percent of the total, and forcibly relocated them to Tijuana? Not just immigrants, but even those who have lived in this country for many generations. Not just the unemployed or the criminals or the America haters, but the school teachers, the small business owners, the soldiers, even the baseball players.

What if we established government and faith-based agencies to help move white people into their former homes? And what if we razed hundreds of their homes in rural areas and, with the aid of charitable donations from people in the United States [3] and abroad, planted forests on their former towns, creating nature preserves for whites to enjoy? Sounds pretty awful, huh? I may be called anti-Semitic for speaking this truth. Well, I'm Jewish and the scenario above is what many prominent Israeli scholars say happened when Israel expelled Palestinians from southern Israel and forced them into Gaza. But this analogy is just getting started.

The authors takes a comparison and then injects his own prejudical assumptions into the mix. First rockets were flying in from Tijuana and suddenly Mexicans are being expelled a la apartheid across the border.
What should be mentioned was that Pancho Villa ordered those Mexicans to leave their homes so he could vanqyish those pesky San Diegans. The author may be Jewish but has a limited grasp on what actually happened in 1948. Most Arabs who relocated to the West Bank or the Palestinian highlands did so on the advice of the leaders of 5 Arab Armies (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt) A few were expelled and some fled in fear. In losing the war the Arab armies created vast tracts of empty land and created Israel.
Fearing complicity in the attempted genocide of Palestinian Jews, the R=Arabs remained there. The author out of naivete ignorance or malicousness fails to mention this in his “analogy”.
What if the United Nations kept San Diego's discarded minorities in crowded, festering camps in Tijuana for 19 years? Then, the United States invaded Mexico, occupied Tijuana and began to build large housing developments in Tijuana where only whites could live.

What if the Mexicans refused to integrate these Mexicans into the rest of the Mexican population? What if they were taught by rebels groups to hate San Diegans for the lack of integration instead of the Mexicans?? What if the Mexicans under UN aegis treated these refugees poorly? What if Mexiv=cans refused to talk with the San Diegans on these issues? And then The San Diegans beat off a Mexican attack and occupied Tijuana? Population pressure then caused many San Diegans to migrate to Tijuana.

And what if the United States built a network of highways connecting American citizens of Tijuana to the United States? And checkpoints, not just between Mexico and the United States but also around every neighborhood of Tijuana? What if we required every Tijuana resident, refugee or native, to show an ID card to the U.S. military on demand? What if thousands of Tijuana residents lost their homes, their jobs, their businesses, their children, their sense of self worth to this occupation? Would you be surprised to hear of a protest movement in Tijuana that sometimes became violent and hateful? Okay, now for the unbelievable part.

And then Mexico funded extremist terrorists to kill San Diegans in San Diego, Tijuana and everywhere else. How could you keep this conflict in check? With walls, checkpoints and separation!

Think about what would happen if, after expelling all of the minorities from San Diego to Tijuana and subjecting them to 40 years of brutal military occupation, we just left Tijuana, removing all the white settlers and the soldiers? Only instead of giving them their freedom, we built a 20-foot tall electrified wall around Tijuana? Not just on the sides bordering San Diego, but on all the Mexico crossings as well. What if we set up 50-foot high watchtowers with machine gun batteries, and told them that if they stood within 100 yards of this wall we would shoot them dead on sight? And four out of every five days we kept every single one of those border crossings closed, not even allowing food, clothing, or medicine to arrive. And we patrolled their air space with our state-of-the-art fighter jets but didn't allow them so much as a crop duster. And we patrolled their waters with destroyers and submarines, but didn't even allow them to fish.

What if Mexico also built a wall and surrounded this area? Considering the violent episodes that regulary pulsed the population fed by hate refusing to talk wouldn’t you want to keep them in check until they regained their sanity. Here sanity means accept San Diegos right to exist.

Would you be at all surprised to hear that these resistance groups in Tijuana, even after having been "freed" from their occupation but starved half to death, kept on firing rockets at the United States? Probably not. But you may be surprised to learn that the majority of people in Tijuana never picked up a rocket, or a gun, or a weapon of any kind.
No you wouldn’t be surprised that the Tijuanitas were launching missiles with a death philosophy based on an extreme version of their religion and funding from extremists in Mexico.

The majority, instead, supported against all hope negotiations toward a peaceful solution that would provide security, freedom and equal rights to both people in two independent states living side by side as neighbors. This is the sound analogy to Israel's military onslaught in Gaza today. Maybe some day soon, common sense will prevail and no corpus of misleading analogies abut Tijuana or the crazy guy across the hall who wants to murder your daughter will be able to obscure the truth. And at that moment, in a country whose people shouted We Shall Overcome, Ich bin ein Berliner, End Apartheid, Free Tibet and Save Darfur, we will all join together and shout "Free Gaza. Free Palestine." And because we are Americans, the world will take notice and they will be free, and perhaps peace will prevail for all the residents of the Holy Land.

The majority of Tijuaintas were polled frequently always expressed support for the most extreme elements out of a combination of fear and hatred of those extremists and taught hatred over generations. Free Gaza is shouted but Gaza really was free all along but CHOSE war.

To turn a blind eye to all of those things and say that they are fighting you for no reason is idiotic. You and people like you should be charged with TREASON because you are putting the interests of some stupid racist country before American interests and endangering AMERICAN lives. Is it so hard to see there are forces behind the politically disorganized Palestinian Arabs? The Arab League and their rival in anti-Zionist adventurism the mullahs of Iran are behind them. When you go to apartheid Saudi-land there are separate highways for NON-MUSLIMS! The Arabs living behind the Green Line (Israel) for the most part abandoned their homes. They were instructed to leave the theatre of war by the leaders of the 5 Arab Armies (Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan—The Arab League Army!). They deserve compensation like ALL refugee populations of mass emigration see India, Pakistan, Greece, Rome, Yugoslavia, Poland, Germany etc. They prefer compensation but Hamas and Fatah prodded by fanatic and suicidal beliefs in the afterlife (courtesy of radical Islam) has suppressed those opinions. The Palestinian Arabs have suffered economically because they are in a state war with Israel. It has been THAT way since they set over the first suicide bombers in 1993. You fight economically in wars. They brought more suffering upon themselves, when they elected Hamas as a minority government. They elected WAR. When you have a hostile nation you build fortified borders like Israel has done. Where have all the suicide bombers gone?? The 2nd intifada brought the hardhips on the Palestinian Arab people.
Sudicide bombers killed so many people the Israelis instituted the measures at checkpoints to prevent death. Why are so many Israelis hardened to the Arabs? Because of THOSE attacks. And keep in mind the first Arab attacks were in 1920. They were repeated in 1920, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 and 1948. Many Israelis remember that. They also remember when Arab nations attacked in 1967, 1973, 1978, 1982, 2006 and last December. Those werent all the attacks. Are these eyes blind? No they see all!!!

When you say “stupid racist country” your emotions are blinding you! You cannot see the situation correctly. When you say “TREASON” you invoke more emotion packed distortions. American interests are NOT put in danger by Israel but by its corporate interests, its democratic values and its position as world police. You live by unquestioned speculation that is dogma. I am often told by Jew haters and anti-zionists to go to Israel. Its an attempt at distraction and evasion from any real arguements.

The bigots see the Jew as the other. The other to be blamed. Of course it simple psychological projection from neurotically damaged minds, Projection means they wish to cut out something from deep within themselves. To futher tear at their essence they increase the damage. They begin to love the damage, the hate. They get a high at seeing suffering from hate, from division. They sense a feeling of power. They do not realize this power is emptying their soul. They are the snake eating its own tail.

If you go through anti-semitic Yahoo and google groups, Youtube, internet forums ( from the left and right- Most run by the right FOR the left) you may not be able to distinguish between the foolers and the fooled. There is a deliberate campaign by a network of right wing ideologues to bring about conditions for another Holocaust or at least a turn of public opinion against Jews and Israel! And this has been going on well before the worldwide web! Now they have been joined by Islamists (Fundamentalists Muslims) of mostly Arab background. This has created a cross cultural current of pre WW2 anti-semitic literature (propaganda) to be rehashed between Islamist and Arabist circles and white supremacist Jew Haters around the world. And Most of it was created in the USA as well as Nazi Germany then. [This may have contributed to the overwhelming atmosphere of guilt AFTER WW2 that helped Israel and suppressed anti-semitism then] They come out like clockwork in every conflict involving Israel. I notice how other issues like Tibet, Darfur, Burma, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Zimbabwe etc are ignored or dismissed. This campaign has its roots in the 19th century. They raid Jewish Yahoo groups as well as others with spam attacks. When you try to engage them you realize their composite nature of ignorant idealists and rabid Nazi/Klan advocates. Both the idealists and grizzled supremacists pretend to know to be versed in historical details but when challenged you get the idea they just read the plethora of anti-Semitic sites and barely know current events, recent history, world history or ancient history. And the hostile reaction is telling as well. Rarely do they reply in a coherent or logical way. 1. They simply dismiss facts they cant intellectually digest, in many tangential ways. 2. They simply say that cannot be true. 3. They proclaim me a liar or Zionist or Illuminati agent or Satan. (really!!) 4. They ignore me. 5. They predict the END OF THE JEWS in many different MAGICAL and BIBLICALLY-DERIVED ways 6. They will dismiss me labeling me as part of a group or conspiracy that follows orders robotically when its the JEW HATERS is unconsciously a robot of bias and hatred! There will be no coverage of internal Lebanese conflicts, (with their origin in the IGNORED LEBANESE CIVIL WAR.), the Algerian massacres (yes ignored massacres!!), the Polasario-Morrocan war, the African Continental wars in Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, other African wars in Liberia, Guinea, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, the Sudan, Chad, Somalia and humanitarian crises with liberation struggles in Tibet, East Turkestan, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka, Southern Thailand. The writer confuses the Phillistines with the Palestinians. They are totally different peoples separated by millenia. The Phillistines are theorized as most like Sea People of Greek origin who settled in the Gaza area after the Sea Peoples Wars of upheaveal in the 12 century BCE. When the Jews became Israelis in 1948 the Arabs were left without an identity. They were not Jordanian or Egyptian and were occupied by Arabs of those states.
Just before the 1967 Six Day War, Yasir Arafat in a brilliant move revived the term "Palestinians" to mean Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza. This differentiated them from Egypt and Jordan and gave then an identity as a people and nation. Artificial but real.
So todays Palestinians are Arabs who were segregated from other nations by the Arab League as a cancer to continually fester alongside Israel
The most of the Muslim Arabs are a result of migrations of Arab tribes from Arabia from the 9th to 12th centuries across the area into North Africa, The Christian Arabs are descendant of Canaanite or Phoenician and Hebrew peoples from Amorite and Aramean migrations in the second and first millenna BCE To this add the Greek people from the Hellenistic migrations after Alexander the Great.
So many Palestinian Arabs are likely to have some descent from Jews from the time of Jesus.

World Jewish Power

Anti-Semites in order to give their meaningless wandering lives some meaning create the mega-powerful Jewish world domination. Its carefully constructed to victimize though.
